Here's a project that I worked on awhile ago.
It now has a new home.
It was won at St Francis of Assissi Anglican Church during their Spaghetti Western Dinner & Auction.

Well, I'm back again!
I thought I would share with you a couple of the quilts I've made.
They are nothing fancy. They're just projects that have helped keep me sane!
I hope you enjoy!
This is a baby quilt that I made for a co-worker. Process of piecing.
Completed! No quilting. Instead, I tied the inside corners of the blocks. Not sure if you can see the threads.

Sheila's baby shower Crayon quilt.
I gave each guest a square of paper and a box of crayons. They were asked to draw/write something to the new mommy and/or baby. After the guests went home, I scanned the pieces of paper and printed them out on fabric. The center picture is a copy of her baby shower invitation printed out on fabric.
Still a work in progress. (My Grand-baby is going to be 4 years old May 7th.)

Welcome to my sewing space.
This is where it all happens.
Well, I thought I would post a few pictures of where all the sewing happens.
Notice the sign above the sewing machine that reads "Bird Crossing."
My lovely 3 year old Grand-Kidlette, Nevaeh, thought it would be funny to hang it there since my real name is ROBIN.
My sewing space is complete with a cork board for patterns & pictures. I have my Ipod and Boom box VERY close by.
Next we have a lousy picture of my shelf that holds, on the top shelf, all my quilting books and magazines. The second shelf holds my mommy's sewing basket, and all my fat quarters. The third shelf is where all my thread and bobbins are kept. Further down are all my finished quilts as well as that HIDEOUS quilt shown before and a few UOF's. As we go along, YOU can decide whether you want to see UFO's, finished quilts or WIP so long as I can figure out how to make tabs that can take you directly to those posting. (I think it has to do with "LABELS, but I'm not too sure yet.)

Next, we have my ironing/cutting station. Hopefully, I will convince Hubby that the long table that is taking up space in the garage can be put to better use in my sewing room and one end can serve as the ironing table while the other end can be for my cutting surface.
Next, we have my design wall. This quilt only needs a few more strips of fabric sew on and the top is completed. YAY!!! On to quilting and binding.
This is on my design wall but ... was a total mistake and I have no idea how I made them. They are liked by plenty of people so, I will eventually sit down and figure it out. My Womb-Mate loves the color green.
Maybe ... just saying See-ster!

My very first blog post!
I have been wanting to blog for awhile now and have just never found the time.
Okay, here we go ...
My name is Robin. I have been happily UNmarried to Tom for 26 years. Together, we have 2 grown 28 year old sons. Justin & Johnathan.
Justin and his girlfriend Sheila, have two beautiful daughters. Adraianna is 6 years old and Nevaeh is 4 years old.
Johnathan and his girlfriend Sarah have no children ... yet!

Here's how I got into quilting.
My Husband bought me a sewing machine 12 years ago. I was thrilled! So thrilled in fact, I attempted to make a skirt. I say "attempted" because it nowhere resembled a skirt. Let me tell you ... that skirt made it to only one dance in it's very short life. It danced it's way right into the trash can and the sewing machine found it's way to the very back of the bottom of a closet where it remained for about 7 years.
7 Years later, I came across an assortment of colored fabric and decided to pull out the sewing machine and make a quilt. The only thoughts going through my head were "the Husband is leaving on a fishing trip so I have a whole weekend to start AND complete a quilt." So, I got down on the floor and started cutting the fabric into tiny little squares. I sew'd and sew'd and sew'd and once I decided I couldn't sew anymore and the quilt top is big enough, I layed down the backing fabric and then the batting and placed the quilt top I just made, on top. I basted it all by hand and then stood up. I stared down at this quilt with such a huge smile on my face. I was so proud! Taking a deep breath, pushing my shoulders back and raising my head high ... I gave myself a pat on the back. (That's because no one else was there to do it for me.)
And then ... I came up with the hair-brained idea to hand-quilt the whole thing. THAT was 7 years ago!

Why is THAT always the first question?
Well, some of you already know where it is. The rest of you ... well ... I will post pictures of it and you can see for yourself.
SHAME!
As you can see, there is alot of HAND quilting left to be done and it has no binding. Unfortunately, this quilt (I think it's hideous!) is folded and placed at the bottom of a pile of other things.
Now, 5 years later!
I'm going to start from here and post pictures of quilts that have been completed as well as some pojects that are still being worked on. This blog's main focus will be quilting with a little bit of LIFE thrown in just to add some spice and shake things up.
